The Palace

The ideal place to connect with nature and find your inner peace

Palacio de Luces is Asturias’s best-kept secret. A restored and recently refurbished palace from the 16th century, surrounded by 13.000 m2 of gardens and only 2 kilometres away from the charming seaside village of Lastres, one of the most beautiful villages in Spain.

Between the Cantabrian Sea and the Picos de Europa Mountains, in a privileged natural setting, among forests of yews, beeches, cherry trees, pines and hollies, this hotel is the ideal place to break away from the daily routine, far away from noise and pollution. Palacio de Luces is the place to connect with nature, find peace and enjoy unforgettable moments.

It has 44 rooms, an Asturian-cuisine restaurant, big spaces for events, an old chapel, several terraces to enjoy the surroundings and a wellness area, which includes a massage room, saunas and a heated pool.

— The Palace’s setting is enviable. It’s located a scant 10 minutes away from the beaches of La Isla, Lastres y La Griega, 40 minutes from Oviedo and 25 minutes from Gijón.

Gastronomy

Tella, the restaurant at Palacio de Luces, with unbeatable views and led by chef Nacho García Canellada, a disciple of the great chef Fernando Martín, offers local products (sea and mountain) of supreme quality, with traditional Asturian dishes and the influence of the Indies through recipes and ingredients brought from the New Continent.

Tella’s cuisine answers to the market, to local, sustainable produce, to what Colunga offers, which includes almost everything, from legumes to fish, from seafood to game and fowl. Seasonal salad made with eco tomatoes, tuna or Asturian beef tartare, morel mushroom raviolis with truffled pitu sauce, cod trilogy, paella and creamy rice finished off in our wood-fired oven, fresh fish from our markets, selected braised premium meats and a collection of traditional essentials for those looking to not only visit, but also taste Asturias.

— Gastronomy plays a significant role in the culture and idiosyncrasy of the area. It’s a fundamental part of the experience.
